Throat Chakra: When Rediscovering Your Voice Becomes Your Superpower
What exactly is the Throat Chakra and what does it have to do with truth? Chakras are energy centers that play a key role in our emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being. The goal is to support balance within the chakra system to promote harmony within the body. When chakras are out of balance one can experience emotional, physical, and spiritual discomforts.
Let's dive into the throat chakra. The throat chakra governs self-expression, communication, and vocalizing one's truth. When balanced, it supports clarity in speech, confidence, authenticity, and integrity, when imbalanced one can experience anxiety perhaps around speaking, conflict avoidance, lack of self-confidence, sore throat, allowing others to dominate you verbally, and health issues such as thyroid issues, aching neck, chronic teeth grinding.
If you struggle to speak your truth, I have great news! First, there is nothing wrong with you—that’s the most important part to remember. Second, you can rediscover your voice with the help of your throat chakra.
10 Tips for Rediscovering Your Voice:
Release judgment on yourself and others. Judgements carry a low frequency, and they serve no purpose unless, of course, you are judging whether to walk through a dark alley at night alone or a well-lit populated street then by all means feel free to judge the alley and don’t walk down it.
Sing. Yes, you read that right. Put on your favorite playlist and sing your heart out. Best of all, you won’t be judging yourself, so you won’t have to worry about how you sound.
Meditate or listen to a high-frequency sound, 432hz or higher is best. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and imagine the color blue beautifully expanding from your throat area. Do this for 5-10 minutes 1-2 times per day.
Speak your truth even if you’re shaking. Keep in mind it’s not what you say it’s how you deliver it. Now this doesn’t mean you need to make it warm and fluffy, especially if that is not true to you, however, you also don’t need to make it aggressive. There are always exceptions such as if you are being physically harmed or in danger to name a few.
Go to a mirror, look yourself in the eyes, and say to yourself, I love you, I am beautiful, I speak my truth with compassion, love, and respect for myself and others, my voice is strong and clear. Do this several times per day and watch your magic unfold.
Journal. Ask yourself what is my truth and how does my voice sound, then write down everything that comes to mind. This is a great way to start navigating through how you use your voice and are you being true to yourself. It is important to show up, after all, no one can bring the same light you do to the world so don’t hide it.
Go outside! Yes, I am talking to you. Go outside, breathe in fresh air, feel the grass with your feet, and state what you are grateful for. I recommend saying it out loud while feeling the love fill your body. Don’t forget to add to your list your amazing voice.
Think of a time you wanted to speak your truth and didn’t. Now say what you wanted to say but didn’t. Say it with confidence, love, and respect.
Follow your intuition. Trust in yourself so much that you stop second-guessing yourself, second-guessing your voice.
Be you! It’s that simple. You’ve already released judgment so now it’s time to be unapologetically you.
